Bengaluru: Former Union minister K H Muniyappa, who lost in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections in the Kolar constituency, met with UPA Chairperson and former AICC president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi on Saturday, June 1 evening and lodged a complaint against the JDS and Congress MLAs in Kolar.

According to sources, he alleged to Sonia Gandhi that speaker K R Ramesh Kumar and other leaders, including Kolar JDS MLA Shrinivasa Gowda hatched a conspiracy to defeat him in the elections.

During a press conference, Muniyappa confirmed that he brought the real reasons for his defeat in Kolar to the knowledge of Sonia Gandhi and other AICC leaders.

“I lodged a complaint against a few JDS and Congress leaders from the district with the Congress party’s national leadership,” he said.

“A few leaders schemed against me. I would have won easily if we had all worked together,” he lamented.
