Bengaluru: The Vijayanagar police have arrested a 26-year-old woman on Tuesday for allegedly attacking her lover with knife and chemicals in Vijayanagar on Monday night.
The police have identified the accused as Lidiya (26), working as a staff in-charge at a private hospital. According to the police, the accused Lidiya had attacked Jayakumar (30), a cloth merchant. The police said both are the residents of Srirampura. The incident took place in Vijayanagar at around 8.30 pm on Monday night.
According to the police, Jayakumar and Lidiya were in a relationship for the past four years. Recently, the duo broke up after Lidiya asked him to marry her. Jayakumar, subsequently started avoiding Lidiya, and decided on marrying another girl. Learning about the same, a jilted Lidiya attacked Jayakumar with knife and some chemicals. The police are yet to ascertain whether the chemical was hazardous, as there were no burn injuries due to the chemical. However, Jayakumar is being treated at KC General Hospital for knife injuries.
A case was registered at Vijayanagar police station and the police are investigating the case.
