Bengaluru: With the view to revive its network in the southern parts of Karnataka, the JDS is planning a padayatra in the state on August 20.
Speaking about the padayatra, senior JDS leader Y S V Datta said that the party is planning to cover the entire state in a span of six months.
JDS supremo and former prime minister H D Devegowda, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and other senior leaders of the party are expected to participate in the padayatra that will kick off on August 20.
Reportedly, the padayatra will take place in two phases. The first phase will begin in Nanjangud and then proceed to Davangere and Harihar. This way, the padayatra will continue for six months.
Clarifying the aim of the padayatra, HDD said that their intention is not to hurt their alliance with the Congress party or the state coalition government.
