Bengaluru: Jamakhandi’s newly elected Congress MLA Anand Nyamagouda will have his swearing-in ceremony at the Vidhana Soudha today.

Anand is the elder son of former MLA late Siddu Nyamagouda. He beat his opponent, BJP’s Srikant Kulkarni in the recently held Assembly by-polls in the Jamakhandi constituency, by 39,480 votes.

He was also recently caught up in a controversy for his anti-Brahmin statements made during a felicitation programme organised by local Muslim organisations. Later, the KPCC leadership forced him to apologise for his statement.
