Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader CK Jaffar Sharif has started a protest urging the State government to hand over the multi-crore Amanat co-operative bank scam to CBI inquiry on Saturday noon.
This is the second time Sharif is staging protest against the issue.
He is staging protest in front of Bank’s head office at Shivajinagar.
He had staged protest even earlier demanding for a CBI inquiry on Amanat co-operative bank scandal which allegedly runs up to Rs 300 crores, but withdrew due to health reasons.
Meanwhile, speaking to media, Sharif lashed out at the State government for not meeting his demands and clarified that his act of protest is not against any individual person.
Karnataka State Minorities Commission has lodged a complaint against misappropriation of money with Lokayukta during the tenure of former Union minister Rahaman Khan as the chairperson.
An individual case of misappropriation had also been filed against 11 committee members of the bank at Commercial Street police station in 2012.
