Bengaluru: The Income Tax department has obtained permission from the state Prisons Department to question V K Sasikala, the AIADMK leader who was jailed in connection with the IT raids conducted at her residence in November 2017.
It can be recalled that at the time of the raids, the IT department authorities had seized a huge stash of cash and property documents over and above their known source of income. Ornaments worth over Rs 5 crores was seized from her and her family’s residence. IT had raided 187 places and carried out a search operation in 33 places.
“The IT department wanted time to question Sasikala in this regard. Based on their request, the dates for the questioning have been finalised for December 13 and 14. A separate space will be provided inside the jail for the investigation,” informed the prison department authorities.
