Bengaluru: The senior police officers who are facing abatement to suicide charges in MK Ganapathi suicide case have withdrawn their application on Thursday, lodged in the High Court of Karnataka.

IPS officers AM Prasad and Pranab Mohanthi had earlier moved to HC against the Madikeri Session Court’s order to file FIR against them and probe on abetting suicide case.
The officers withdrew their application and submitted statements saying ‘will stand of any sort of inquiry’, to the single bench headed by Justice Ananda Byra Reddy.
After hearing the submission plea, the court directed the officials to face the probe carried out by senior officials appointed by government and dismissed the case.
It can be recalled that late DySP Ganapathi accused two senior officials and a former minister of harassment and committed suicide. The incident stirred political and public anguish which resulted in sacking the minister from Cabinet.
Meanwhile, the IPS officers had moved HC over the issue and hearing the plea on Wednesday, Judge Ananda Byra Reddy had the officers if the minister could step down from the post and face probe, why the two of them cannot.
