Bengaluru: Even though few fringe Hindu organisations are opposing Pejawar Vishweshwaa Theertha Swamiji for holding Iftar meet inside the mutt premises, several intellectuals especially those who are identified with the liberal movement of Karnataka have strongly come in support of the Swamiji.
Former minister Prof. BK Chandrasekar, writers Dr MS Ashadevi, Dr. K Maralusiddappa, Dr. SG Siddaramaiah, Dr. Siddalingaiah, Dr. HS Ramachandragowda have now raised voice in support of the Iftar party in the mutt.
In a joint statement, all these writers have stated that Swamiji’s move is expected to have a healing touch for the communally troubled coastal region.
State revenue minister Kagodu Thimmappa who is considered as socialite also come in defense of Swamiji. Speaking to reporters, Kagodu has stated that verbal attack on Swamiji by few fascist forces unfortunate and state government will rally behind him.
