Bengaluru: A 26-year-old mother of a newborn baby and software engineer accidentally slipped while drying her hair and fell to her death from her apartment on the eight floor in Bengaluru on Tuesday, April 26.

Chandana Nagesh, working as a software engineer in Infosys, had delivered at baby boy just a week ago. She was on her maternity leave. The incident took place at SNN Raj Serenity gated community on Begur Main Road, Yelenahalli, off Bannerghatta Road at 6:30 pm when her mother Manjula Nagesh and mother-in-law Meenakshi were taking care of the baby, police said.

It is said that Chandana had taken a shower and was in the bedroom drying her hair when she peeped out of the window, slipped and plunged to death from the eight floor.

She was already lying in a pool of blood when the guards noticed her. The family members rushed her to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.

The postmortem was conducted at Victoria Hospital on Wednesday and the family took away the body to Mandya for final rites.

Electronic City police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating. Her husband Abhilash works for Siemens as a software engineer.
