Infant dies after being denied treatment; Father stages stir outside CM’s residence

Bengaluru: A man staged a protest outsude Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s residence on Saturday after he lost his one-month-old girl child.

Holding a photo of the baby, Venkatesh staged a protest against denial of medical care in the hospitals and alleged that the same pathetic condition led to death of his infant.

He stated that the infant developed health complications on July 11 and over a dozen hospitals turned them away denying medical care to the baby.

After the child passed way, Venkatesh decided to stage a sit-in protest outside the CM’s residence to draw the attention of the CM towards the issue which is claiming innocent lives.

The demonstration drew public attention and several people joined him in the protest.

Later, he was taken away from the spot by the police and let off with a warning.
