IMA Scam: More trouble for bureaucrats as Khan reveals names?

Bengaluru: More trouble is brewing for several senior IPS and IAS officers beside JDS and Congress leaders in the IMA scam. According to to the sources, the IMA scam kingpin Mansoor Khan has revealed that he has paid money to several IAS and IPS officials. If sources are to be believed, an IPS officer received Rs.13 crores cash and 25 kg gold from Khan to shield his business.

According to the sources, recently the CBI grilled two IPS and one IAS officer in connection with the ongoing scam and recorded their statements.

“One of the officers is blamed to have demanded Rs. 5 crores from Khan, but another officer allegedly received 13 crores cash and 25 kg gold,” said sources.

IMA scam revolves around a private firm called I Monetary Advisory Group, which floated a ponzi scheme offering investors exponential returns to the tune of 36 to 64 per cent on investments. The USP of the scheme was that it was in line with Sharia principles of Islam.
