Bengaluru: Political circles in the city are abuzz with rumours that former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy is likely to go soft on the BJP government in the state and possibly even extend his support if required, owing to the IMA scam.

According to sources, the multi-crore IMA scam was handed over to the CBI for investigation in order to put pressure on the JD(S) state leadership.

“IMA scam main accused Mansoor Khan revealed some explosive information during the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation. He named at least two senior IPS officers and shared details about how he sent money to politicians. This information has been video recorded and is being used to soften the JD(S) leadership,” explained sources in the BJP.

“The BJP’s central leadership is aware of the fact that it can’t run a government in Karnataka without the support of the JD(S). It is now trying to make them attack the Congress. The JD(S) is in big trouble,” a senior BJP leader told Newskarnataka.com.
