Bengaluru: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which is investigating the multi-thousand crores IMA scam carried out searches in the residences of two IT officials who served in Bengaluru in the year 2017.
According to the CBI sources, raids were carried out simultaneously in 8 places including two places in Bengaluru in connection with the IMA scam.
The CBI is suspecting that a few IT officials may have helped the company to operate without any legal troubles. With this a few Income Tax officials who had carried out an investigation in 2017 are under scanner.
It can be recalled that in May 2019, IMA managing director Mansoor Khan shut down the company alleging harassment by politician.
Since then the company is not operational. Even though Karnataka government initially formed a Special Investigation Team(SIT) to investigate the scam, in July it was handed over to CBI.
