Bengaluru: The Income Tax Department filed a complaint with the Election Commission against Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara regarding the protest against the recent I-T raids in Karnataka.

Chief Electoral Officer Sanjeev Kumar told media persons that the EC had forwarded the complaint to the DG and IG of Police. He said that the complaint was against threat to life and conducting meeting without permission.

The I-T department has also written letters to the revenue department and the principal secretary regarding the protest rally held by the CM in front of the I-T office on Queen’s Road.

On March 28, Kumaraswamy and other leaders of his party had held a protest rally in front of the I-T Department office expressing their retaliation against the raids in many parts of the state terming it selective and politically motivated.

CM Kumaraswamy had targeted B R Balakrishnan, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax and Director (Investigation), alleging that he was acting according to the will of the BJP government at the centre.
