Bengaluru: B S Yeddyurappa, president, BJP, Karnataka on Wednesday said that he was not interested to join Union Cabinet in the wake of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Court acquitting him from all the cases.
Interacting with media persons in Bengaluru, Yeddyurappa said that he wanted to focus on Karnataka and strengthen BJP in the state. “I am not interested in national politics. My focus is to strengthen BJP in Karnataka,’’ Yeddyurappa said.
Expressing happiness over the CBI Court judgment, Yeddyurappa said that he had to suffer due to the political conspiracy during the last five years. “I do not want name the political party or the political leader who was behind this conspiracy. I do not want to follow vendetta politics. There is a BJP wave in the state. I will utilize this wave to bring BJP back to power in the state,’’ he said.
When asked to comment on Chief Minister’s Siddaramaiah’s comment, he said that Siddaramaiah talks like an intellectual person. “Congress is losing ground in Karnataka because of Siddaramaiah. I do not want to comment on his statement,’’ he said.
He said that all BJP leaders have been working to strengthen the party in the state and some issues would crop up since BJP was the national party. “It is quite natural to have some issues. There may be some leaders not happy for not able to get suitable positions in the party. All these issues will be solved by discussing at the party forum,’’ he said. The BJP state president said that K S Eshwarappa has already become busy in making preparations for the convention of other backward castes scheduled for the next month.
Later, addressing BJP activists, he advised them not to succumb to conspiracies and work for strengthening BJP in the state. “We have to work hard to bring BJP back to power,’’ he said. He called upon the BJP activists to make all efforts to make the proposed convention of the other backward castes scheduled to be held on November 27. “I want all of you to work hard and ensure that three lakh people attend the convention,’’ he said.
Stop indulging in politics of vendetta
Expressing happiness over CBI court acquitting B S Yeddyurappa, Jagadish Shettar, Leader of Opposition, said the state government should stop indulging in politics of vendetta. “The CBI court judgement has proved that Yeddyurappa and his family members have not done anything illegal.I want the state government stop indulging in politics of vendetta. I want the state government not to appeal to High Court against the CBI court judgment,” Jagadish Shettar said.
