Hubballi: Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs minister has become saviour to several people and now, a man from Karnataka is hoping that she will respond to his problem as well.
Daniel Hendry Devanur from Hubballi in Karnataka is left in lurch after a cross-border marriage.
Daniel Henry Devanur married his relative Silvia Noorin in a Church in Lahore, Pakistan in 2016 and then returned to India, while his wife continued to live in Pakistan.
Noorin approached Pakistani authorities to get a sponsorship certificate which is a must to apply for an Indian visa. This certificate has to be signed by an “A” grade official of the Pakistan government. But no Pakistani official is ready to sign it and they are neither ready to cite the reason, reports CNN-news18.
The man is now in a fix because without the required document, the Indian High Commission will not give her a Visa. Daniel last met his wife nine-months-ago and when he realised that seeing her again is becoming a vague possibility, he started meeting politicians seeking their help.
However, Dharwad MP Prahlad Joshi promised to take up the issue with Sushma Swaraj.
Daniel has also tweeted all relevant documents and is now seeking help from Sushma Swaraj.
