Bengaluru: In the aftermath of the KG Halli and DG Halli violence, the state government decided to find a way to regulate the social media posts in the state to ensure that no offensive messages are posted which may trigger tension. As part of this strategy, home minister Basavaraj Bommai announced that soon he will meet the country heads of all the social media platforms.
Speaking to reporters in Haveri, his home district he said that the idea is to find out whether it is possible to delete the offensive posts while posting itself. “I am trying to find out whether posting such materials can be stopped through an automated verification,” he said.
“Next week I have called a meeting of officers in this regard. It is a new beginning,” he said.
