Bangalore : The Karnataka High Court has on Wednesday July 15 vacated the stay on the potency test of the controversial Godman Nityananda.

The Court has directed that the police can subject him to a potency test  if necessary in the backdrop of rape charges against him. He can be arrested and the test done, the court has said.

Earlier, the Ramanagara Court which acted upon a petition by a woman named Arathi who said that Nityananda  had sexually harassed and raped her, had ordered  the controversial Godman’s potency test.  However, the advocate for Nityananda had moved the High Court against the lower court order and had succeeded in bringing about a stay to the same.

The High Court has now said that Nityananda can be subject to potency, voice test and other medical tests.

Here it is worth mentioning that soon after the complaint was filed against him, Nityananda had begun to argue that he was impotent. He had even uploaded in his website a copy of the medical report by a US doctor  in this regard.
