New Delhi/Bengaluru: The Congress High-command has reportedly directed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to choose any one constituency out of Chamundeshwari of Mysuru district and Badami of Bagalkot district.
According to the sources, the party hi-command has opined that choosing two constituencies would pass a wrong message to rivals. So, it is better to avoid contesting in two constituencies. Both, KPCC President G Parameshwara and the CM testing their luck from two constituencies will be an embarrassment for the party, the seniors said and tried to convince them both.
The Congress review committee conducted meetings on the distribution of ticket till Thursday late night and carried out several rounds of talks with state leaders. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC President G Parameshwar and State-in-Charge K C Venugopal participated in the meeting and stressed on distributing tickets to winning candidates.
The final list will be out by 11 am today, after another round of discussion by Central Election Committee (CEC) at Sonia Gandhi’s residence.
The first list of 136 candidates would be released by evening. According to the sources, most of the close associates of Siddaramaiah would get chance in this round.
