Heavy rain reported from South Karnataka: Kodagu, Bengaluru most affected

Bengaluru: Pre-monsoon rainfall continued across the South Karnataka.

In Bengaluru, a road collapsed in Lakshmidevinagar in Laggare. Normal life was disrupted in districts that received rainfall.

Heavy rain started in Bengaluru around 6.30 am and continued till 8.30 am on Friday.

At Laggare, a road in Lakshmidevinagar collapsed due to flood water. Police and fire department personnel rushed to the spot. As a precautionary measure, vehicle movement has been banned on this road.

Rains lashed Kodagu district and Madikeri witnessed heavy rainfall in the morning itself.

Mysuru, Chikkamagalur, Shivamogga, Hassan also witnessed late night rain. Rain is expected to continue till Sunday.

The officials worry that heavy rainfall may affect the ongoing war against Covid 19.
