Heavy rain disrupts normal life in South Karnataka

Bengaluru: The entire South Karnataka, Kolar, Chikkaballapur to Kodagu, witnessed a heavy rainfall on Friday, March 20 night, disrupting normal life. However, farmers and residents cheered as the rains would temporarily resolve the drinking water crisis.

According to the IMD data, the rain, caused by local factors, started at Kolar and Chikkaballapur in the afternoon. “Bengaluru, Ramanagar, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, and Kodagu witnessed heavy rainfall till late in the night,” informed authorities.

Disruption in the power supply was reported from many places. No untoward incidents reported.

According to the IMD forecast, the rain is expected to continue for a few more days in Bengaluru and the surrounding areas.
