Bangalore, Mar 18: JD(S) sources have revealed that  former chief minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy would contest against Union Minister Veerappa Moily from the Chikkaballapura Lok Sabha constituency.

Kumaraswamy had earlier planned to field his wife Anitha from Chikkaballapura. However, she, it is learnt was not that keen to contest as she had lost in two previous elections. To add to it, health problems too have refrained her from contesting, say sources.

In this backdrop, HD Kumaraswamy was himself contemplating to contest against Moily. Sources also informed that Kumaraswamy is busy appeasing the farming community, which is sore over Moily. On the other hand BJP is fielding former minister BN Bachegowda, while Srirama Reddy will be the CPI(M) candidate from here.
