HDK’s health condition stable post surgery, BSY wishes speedy recovery

Bengaluru : Former chief minister H D Kimaraswamy’s condition is stable post surgery on Saturday, confirmed the lead surgeon who conducted his operation.

The JD(S) state president who had been suffering from leaking of the heart valve underwent a heart surgery which lasted  four hours on Saturday.

Dr Sathyaki Mambala, chief cardiac surgeon at the Apollo Hospitals Bengaluru led the procedure assisted by team of 3 specialist cardiac surgeons.

Kumaraswamy will be in Intesnive Care Unit (ICU) during the next 48 hours and will require hospitalization for one week. The doctors have advised him rest for three weeks and no visitors for the next two weeks.

According to the doctors, Kumaraswamy, who is suffering from acute diabetes and obesity, requires strict diet and exercise for reducing weight. This is the second valve replacement for the ailing JDS state chief after a decade.The replaced valve has a lifespan of 15 years.

Meanwhile wishes for his speedy recovery are pouring in from several quarters. State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa in a tweet wished speedy recovery for H D Kumarasawamy and said would offer prayers for the same so that latter’s health improves.

Kumaraswamy’s father and former Prime Minister H D Devegowda offered prayers at the Gavi Gangadeshwara Temple yesterday and held a special prayer meeting today at the Adi Chunchungiri Mutt for the speedy recovery of his son.
