Bengaluru: The Janata Dal (Secular) is making elaborate preparations for the 2018 assembly elections in a bid to improve its performance. A high-tech bus has already been built for H D Kumaraswamy’s election campaign which has many facilities within.
With age not in favour of JDS Supremo H D Devegowda, his son and former chief minister Kumaraswamy remains the star campaigner for the party. HDK too has undergone a surgery recently and to ensure that election campaigning does not take a heavy toll on his health, JDS has ordered for the hi-tech bus, party sources revealed.
Sufficient room to seat 5-6 six people comfortably at once, an attached kitchen, wash room and a hydraulic lift to address gatherings during campaign are the features provided in the bus built by Ashok Leyland in Chennai at a cost of Rs 1 Crore.
The bus is scheduled to reach the city on October 23 and it will be inspected by state party chief. JDS Minorities President Sayyed Althaf said modifications would be carried out if required.
