Bangalore:The Justice Padmaraj committee, which is probing irregularities in allotment of Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) ‘G’ category sites, recommended government to cancel allotment.

The committee comprising Justice Padmaraj, Justice Rangavitalachar and P. B. Mahishi, retired chief secretary  verified irregularities in allotment and submitted report to government. It has been said that the report may come as a blow to some of the 313 beneficiaries.

The beneficiaries were given a deadline of March 15, 2013 to submit the affidavit. Only 246 allottees have filed their affidavit, while the remaining 67 have not replied to the notice at all.

In case of former chief minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda and former minister D.N. Jeevaraj, the commission observed that since their case is pending before Supreme Court, the state and the BDA should abide by the apex court’s decision. They too have constructed buildings on sites allotted to them.

In the case of one M.A. Mohammed John (M A Ahmed Jan), who had sold the site to a third party under registered document, the state and the BDA has been told to recover double the value of the amount fixed as per the guideline value of the site.

Under this allotment 140 MLA, 4 MPs, 12 Housewives, Stenographer, Waiter, Minister’s relatives, Including Ex MLA C.S Puttaraju daughter, other are benefited.

Following a petition by S. Vasudeva, an advocate, about the irregularities in the allotment of ‘G’ category sites, the high court, on December 25, 2012 directed the government to constitute a committee to look into these allotments.

With respect to all other beneficiaries, the commission has recommended that the other such sites allotted shall be reclaimed by the BDA except for those who have not been allotted the sites.
