Bengaluru: The High Court on Friday dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) challenging the appointment of Lakshman as Karnataka State Pollution Control Board chairperson.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice S K Mukherjee and Justice R B Budihal, rejected the PIL after Advocate General Madhusudan R Naik submitted to the court that the appointment was in accordance with the law.
The petitioner, T Narasimha Murthy, has contended that Lakshman has been appointed on political influence and that he does not have the required qualifications to hold the post.
