Bengaluru: Hassan Deputy Commissioner was on Friday, directed by the High Court to submit the documents relating to MP Prajwal Revanna’s nomination papers to advocate G Devarajegowda by July 3.
The order was passed by Justice Alok Aradhe while disposing of a petition filed by Devarajegowda, who is also a social worker from Hassan.
Devarajegowda, in his petition, claimed that Prajwal had filed a false affidavit in connection with movable and immovable properties, bank balance and income from previous years in Form No 26, filed during his nomination for the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
He had filed a petition in the High Court after the Hassan DC, on April 29, rejected an application seeking Prajwal’s certified documents of particulars, including his nominations papers. The DC had denied the request despite being bound to furnish the details under rule 93(2) of the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961.
He has filed a petition with the High Court seeking the documents, as the last date for filing election petitions is July 6.
