H Vishwanath resigns from post of JDS state president

Bengaluru: Former minister and Hunsur MLA H Vishwanath resigned for the post of JDS state president post owning the responsibility for the LS poll debacle. He submitted his resignation papers to party supremo HD Deve Gowda, former Prime Minister.

His resignation comes a few hours before the JDS legislators’ meet, which is scheduled to be heldon Tuesday evening.

In his four page resignation letter, he slammed Congress leader Siddaramaiah for making the coordination committee ineffective. Meanwhile, higher education minister GT Devegowda stated that efforts will be done to convince Vishwanath to withdraw his resignation.
