Bangalore :The Karnataka Government has set a one month deadline for closure of all open bore wells considering the increasing cases of  children falling into open borewells.

There are a total 110 borewells in BBMP limits and 2500 unused borewells. BBMP officials themselves have informed that over 1000 borewells are lying open.

The Government has already instructed Bangalore City Deputy Commissioner to close all open bore wells within one month failing which criminal proceedings will follow against officials found guilty.
