Bengaluru: In a desperate bid, the government has recommended the name of Karnataka Law Commission Chairman S R Nayak to the government for the third time to the post of Karnataka Lokayukta.

It may be recalled that Governor Vajubhai Vala, who is the appointing authority for the Lokayukta had in the past twice sent back the file recommending Nayak’s name, seeking clarifications from the government on allotment of a residential plot in Judicial Layout here to Nayak.

However, the Governor was not said to be satisfied by the reply given by the government. He had hence written a letter to CM Siddaramaiah in this regard.

The Lokayukta’s post has remained vacant following the resignation of Y. Bhaskar Rao on December 8, 2015.
