Mysuru: The decision on the inclusion of Madivala community in the SC category will be made soon, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Inaugurating the anniversary celebration of Madivala Machideva, he said, “The government is all for including Madivala community in the SC category, which is a long pending demand of the community. Since we came to power in state we are providing financial aid to backward community including Uppara community, Savita Samaja, Thigalaru and Madivala community. We have given Rs 10 Crore each to these communities.”
More than 10,000 members of Madivala Community took part in the Veera Madiwala Machidevara Jayanti, organised by the Mysuru District unit of Madiwala Sangha and the Madiwala Machidevara Jayanthotsava Samiti at J K Grounds. Bengaluru Gurupeeta Seer Sri Shivayogananda Puri Swamiji, Chitradurga Matt Seer Sri Basavamachidevara Swamiji and Mudabidri Koranje Matt Seer Sri Muktanananda Swamiji addressed the gathering.
District In-charge Minister Dr. H C Mahadevappa, Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya, Mayor M J Ravikumar, former deputy chief minister R Ashok, MLAs S R Mahesh and H P Manjunath, MLC Sandesh Nagaraj, Dr. C N Manjunath, Madiwala Sangha State President C Nanjappa, General Secretary Rangaramaiah, Treasurer Subramanya Giridhar and others were present.
