Bengaluru: A total of 4,968 doctors working across the state in the health department have warned the government of indefinite stir and boycotting the COVID-19 duties if their demands are not met.
This has become a cause of concern for the government which is already struggling to handle the COVID-19 situation.
Dr G A Shrinivas, president of the health department doctors association informed that their demands include revised salary, bringing all the BBMP hospitals under the health department ambit, better working condition, a package for their selfless service at the time of Covid-19 among others.
“We will wait for a week’s time. We have already submitted our memorandum to the health minister and the CM. We are confident that our demands will be met. If the state government fails to fulfil our demand, then we will launch an indefinite stir,” he informed.
The government doctors have warned a stir when the state is witnessing a surge in the number of Covid-19 cases and the state government launched widespread Covid 19 test using Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) to test and trace the infection.
