Governor administers oath of office to new HC Judge

Bengaluru: Vajubhai Vala, the Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka, administered the oath of office to Hon’ble Justice Shubro Kamal Mukherjee as the judge of the High court of Karnataka at the Banquet Hall of the Raj Bhavan, Bengaluru on April 15.

Through a notification issued by the Rashtrapathi Bhawan, Karnataka Chief Justice, D H Waghela, has been transferred and appointed as the Chief Justice (CJ) of Odisha High Court. In his place, the President has appointed senior judge of Kolkata High Court, Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee.

As per the Presidential order, the CJ has been asked to take over charge as the new CJ of Odisha within two months. The CJ, who took over as the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court in 2013, is due for retirement in August next year.
