Bengaluru: The “Borewell Drill Tech Expo- 2018”, jointly organised by the Ring Owners’ Association, Borewell Drilling Contractors’ Association and drilling on January 6 at Neelakanta Convention Centre on Tumkur Road, exhibited the dominance of modern technology in borewell drilling.
True to its intention the machines, on exhibit at the expo, included modern types of equipment made in India, machine that could drill upto 100 feet in an hours’ time, equipment to detect groundwater etc. The staff explained about the cost of machines, capacities and the time duration they take to finish the task.
A German machine, priced at a whooping Rs 2 Crore was the centre of attraction at the expo. This machine, with its great drilling speed can be operated by a single person and generates less dust.
Comparatively cheaper Indian machines also attracted visitors’ attention. More than 100 machines from across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat and Maharashtra were on display here. There were stalls related to trucks, air compressor, drilling machines, modern technology in rainwater harvesting.
Inaugurating the expo, Minister for Housing M Krishnappa said that any instance of police harassment to borewell and ring owners will be dealt with sternly. The government would distribute sites for borewell workers soon and those eligible should avail the benefit, he added.
The exhibition is open to visitors on Saturday also.
