Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday alleged that the event to observe journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh’s birth anniversary on Monday turned into a forum to unleash criticism against the party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP State spokesperson S. Suresh Kumar told presspersons that the event should have been dedicated to recalling her contribution to society and expressing concern over the delay by the Congress government in nabbing her killers.

“Instead, all participants who are known critics of the BJP and Modi used the occasion to only continue their attack on them. This is not the way people having concern towards society speak,” he added.
