Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, on Friday, extended greetings to the people of Karnataka on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

Addressing a gathering in the city, CM said that Gandhi was an embodiment of truth, peace and non-violence. Independent India was built as per Gandhi’s thoughts.

“Gandhi took steps to eradicate untouchability, women’s safety and economic equality in the society”, he added.

He also said that Mahatma Gandhi’s ideologies are guidelines for our government adding that Karnataka is the first state that transformed Gandhi’s dream into reality

“Gandhi’s dream of Panchayath Raj system is effectively implemented in Karnataka”, he proudly said.
