Friends’ greed for new currency claims businessman’s life!

Ramnagar: Demonetisation claimed another victim where a businessman  was killed by own friends to extract fresh currency in Ramnagar police station limits.

Businessman named Sattar Ali, resident of Kalanagar in Channapatna is the deceased.

Altaf, Mohab, Sayyed and Akbar, all residents of Channapatna were arrested by the police in connection to the murder.

Incidentally, killers were Sattar Ali’s friends, who lured him to an isolated place by offering 20% commission to exchange spiked currency. Trusting them, the businessman had brought the amount on December 16, but eventually lost his own life.

Killers executed the plan to perfection, in isolated Tenginakallu forest area where they burnt the body after murder before absconding with the booty of Rs 10 lakh fresh currency notes. Locals noticed the burnt body on December 18 and informed Channapatna police.

Police verified mobile call records of the deceased and finally zeroed in on the killers who confessed to the crime during interrogation.

Islamic committee members were seen protesting in front of the Channapatna police station demanding death sentence to all the killers.
