Bengaluru: The Channapatna police on Friday arrested four habitual offenders for allegedly robbing two passengers onboard a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway in Ramanagaram district last month.
The police have identified the accused as Ameen Hussain, Shuhaib, Ummar Farooq and Mohaamed Abdul from Mandya who have been involved in multiple robberies. The police have recovered a gold chain, two mobiles phones and Rs 2,000 cash from the accused persons.
According to the police, Ameen recently got out on bail and along with his associates, began targeting inter-state buses as they usually do not file police complaints, said Channapatna Deputy Superintendent of Police Manjunath.
The police said the accused had allegedly stolen a bike from Kengeri for the robbery. Two of them masked their faces and boarded the bus to rob the passengers.
