Bengaluru: The Mico Layout police have nabbed four people, including a software engineer, on the charges of peddling drugs. The police have seized 2.7 kg charas and 5.3 kg ganja worth Rs27 lakh from the arrested persons.

The police have identified the arrested persons as Ashok Bahaddur (21), a security guard in the city and a native of Nepal, Bijay Singh (30), a resident of HSR Layout, Nijamuddeen (25), a resident of BTM Layout, and Avishek Singh (34), a resident of Hosapalaya.

The police said that Avishek Singh, a software engineer by profession, joined hands with the gang for additional income to lead a lavish life. The police said Avishek Singh has been working at a reputed software company in the city. The gang reportedly sold narcotics to students, techies and other professionals in the city.
