Bengaluru: Former Chief Ministers Siddaramaiah and HD Kumaraswamy condemned the police firing which claimed the lives of two people in Mangaluru on Thursday, December 20.

In a series of tweets, Siddaramaiah alleged that the fascist forces in the state want blood to satisfy their hunger. “In 2013, immediately after he came to power, BSY ordered firing at farmers. Now, on youths,” he charged.

He also urged the state government to allow peaceful protests.

Another former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy stated that the firing was the most unfortunate incident. “This firing incident proves that this government is anti-minority and anti-democratic,” he said.

Kumaraswamy alleged, “Both state and central governments are following oppression against those oppose their policies.”

“By blocking the internet, the state government is muzzling our democracy,” he added.
