Bengaluru: Some real life incidents look like straight out of pages of some spine chilling thrillers. On nabbing five in connection to Ishaan Kirloskar abduction case, the police have learnt that the aspiration of the prime accused to make a film compelled him to execute the crime.
The police have arrested Muniyappa, Hasan Dongri, Jagadeesh, Jagannath and Manoj, all are residents of Bengaluru, in connection to the case.
Among the accused Muniyappa had a flair for cinema and wanted to shine on silver screen as protagonist by hook or crook. This led him to produce a film starring himself in lead role titled “Challenger.” To his misfortune the shooting of the film stopped midway due to financial crunches. Deterred by this he roped in Dongri and hatched a plot to kidnap a wealthy person and pool in the money that comes in terms of extortion. Both were once worked as assistants of a popular Kannada and Tamil actress.
According to the plan they kidnapped Kirloskar’s MD Vinayak Kirloskar’s son on August 23, with the help of three other friends. However, when batallion of police plunged into finding Ishaan Kirloskar, the abductors had dropped Ishaan at Jalahalli.
However, Muniyappa is a habitual offender who is facing several criminal charges in several police limits, including kidnapping a daughter of an MLA and marrying her forcefully. The said woman is his second wife, police said.
