
Bengaluru: The Bengaluru South-East division police unearthed two drug rackets and arrested five persons, including a 36-year-old foreigner, in separate cases on Wednesday.
The Tilak Nagar police caught Suraj Kumar, 38, a native of Bihar, while he was waiting to deliver marijuana to his clients. They also arrested his associates Poornachandranath (45) from Odisha, Vijay Kumar Pal, 35, from Uttar Pradesh and Kamlesh Kumar, 24, from Bihar. They had come to the city in search of jobs three years ago. They used to smuggle marijuana in trains and receive the consignment at K.R. Puram railway station. The police recovered 8 kg of marijuana. Poornachandranath and Suraj Kumar had been arrested by the Mico Layout and Madiwala police earlier this year, but they secured bail in October, an officer said.
Cocaine seized
In another incident, the Suddaguntepalya police arrested Chukwu Gadwin, 36, and found 25 gm of cocaine on him. He had come to India on a business visa in 2014 and stayed in a rentedhouse in Medahalli in Hosakote.
