Belagavi: Six more people tested positive for COVID-19 since 12 PM on Friday, April 17. Five of the six new cases are from Belagavi. One is from Bengaluru.
Earlier in the day, 38 people had tested positive for the disease. With six new cases, today’s tally has risen to 44, the biggest single-day jump reported by the state so far. Overall, the state has 359 confirmed COVID-19 cases, which includes 13 deaths and 88 discharges.
The five new cases in Belagavi – Patients 355 (34-year-old male), 356 (17-year-old male), 357 (46-year-old male), 358 (37-year-old male) and 359 (38-year-old male)- are all contacts of Patient 127.
The patient from Bengaluru, Patient 354, is a 65-year-old resident of the Bengaluru Urban district. She has a severe acute respiratory illness.
As per the bulletin released by the state health department, there are a total of 258 active cases in Karnataka.
