Fire and Emergency services department staff reincluded as frontline workers

Bengaluru: National Health campaign under State government, in a circular dated Wednesday May 26 has ordered deputy commissioners of all the district and BBMP Commissioner, Bengaluru to make certain inclusions in Covid vaccination portal.

Among the people eligible for vaccination under the age 18 to 44, an amendment under Annexure 1 and Annexure 2 has been made. Under this, Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services Department staff have been included and thus have been considered as covid frontline warriors once again.

It can be recalled here that the Fire and Emergency Services Department staff who were deemed as frontline warrior were removed from the portal. Following which, the staff approached DC and DHO to get their roles as frontline staff reconsidered. Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai was informed of this issue through C.T Ravi and now they have been reconsidered as frontline workers.
