Bengaluru: Amulya Leona, a 19-year-old student who was charged with sedition for raising pro-Pakistan slogans at an anti-CAA-NRC rally in Bengaluru has finally managed to secure bail.
It can be recalled that Leona was arrested and charged with sedition for shouting “Pakistan zindabad” during an anti-CAA rally that was held in Bengaluru’s Freedom Park on February 20. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi was also present at the rally.
She was granted bail by a local court as the investigating officer had failed to file a charge-sheet within 90 days.
Earlier, she was denied bail by another court as the investigating officer expressed fear that she may abscond after securing bail.
Her advocates are expected to complete the bail process in a day or two.
