Bangalore: A 39-year-old man allegedly murdered his twin daughters and ended his life on Wednesday morning October 1, under Magadi Road police station limits.

The deceased were identified Devika and Vedika both 4-year-old and their father Kumareshan, a resident of Rajajinagar.

The incident came to light at around 9.30 am when Kumareshan’s mother Saraswathi came to their home. She found the two children lying motionless on the floor, while Kumareshan was found hanging from a ceiling fan.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Kumareshan killed his two daughters by strangulating them with a dupatta and later hanged himself with another dupatta.

According to the police Kumareshan’s wife Soni committed suicide three months ago due to some health issues, grief struck the family and depressed with the situation Kumareshan took the drastic step.

Police are also probing whether Kumareshan had any financial problems. All three bodies were subjected to postmortem. A case of murder and unnatural death was registered.
