Farmer ends life with six-year-old son due to loan burden

Haveri: While the state is expecting the counting of the votes cast for the Assembly election, another farmer committed suicide along with his son due to burden of loans, here on Sunday, May 13.

The deceased have been identified as Shankarapura, resident of Manjappa Kallammanavara (40) and his 6-year-old son. They jumped into a ‘Krishi Honda’ in their field.

Manjappa has 25-acres of land and he took a Rs.20 lakh loan from private and nationalized banks. Manjappa has 2 more children apart from the deceased. A case has been registered in the Haveri Rural police station.
