Bengaluru: A three-storeyed residential building swayed and developed cracks in Manorayanapalya near RT Nagar on Wednesday evening forcing all its residents to evacuate.

According to the RT Nagar police and BBMP officials who visited the spot this residential building belongs to one Sajeed Pasha (20). “On Wednesday morning, the owner of the adjoining site started digging the land for the purpose of constructing a new house. Due to the tremors, this building started to sway. The locals immediately alerted the police,” said police sources.

“We asked the adjoining site owner to stop the work and notices have been issued to both,” said Prakash, BBMP executive engineer.

According to the locals, the building started to sway on Wednesday morning. “Immediately, all the families came out. But the building didn’t fall. It is shaky,” said Yogesh N H, a local resident.
