Bengaluru: A day after IPS officer Roopa D Moudgil, DIG (Prisons) took to Facebook asking the Mysuru BJP MP Pratap Simha not to politicise bureaucracy, the post was censored by Facebook.
The officer expressed shock that her post had been removed since she was just putting across her opinion and had not used any abusive language.
Meanwhile, Simha, who is also president of the state BJP’s youth wing, clarified that he had only shared a news article on Facebook.
The parliamentarian’s post suggested that senior and sincere officers were opting for Central deputation as they “failed” to get important postings in the state. In her response, Roopa appealed to Simha not to politicise police postings.
“I have always spoken up for policemen. I stood by DySP Kallappa Handibag when he was being projected as a corrupt officer following his suicide. I supported constables when they tried to go on mass leave seeking fulfillment of their long-pending demands,” Simha said. The IPS officer insisted that her Facebook post was “issue-based” and that she had “nothing personal” against the MP.
