Ex-minister Chinchansur gets bail in cheque bounce case

Bengaluru: The 15th Additional APMM Court granted bail to former minister Baburao Chinchansur in the cheque bounce case, while asking him to appear before the court during the next hearing on June 1 without fail.

Image result for Baburao ChinchansurAnjana A Shanthaveer, 30, a resident of Nagarabhavi, had filed a private complaint in the court. She has stated in her complaint that Chinchansur had borrowed Rs 11.88 Crore in 12 instalments in 2011 at an interest rate of 12 percent per annum but failed to return. She also said that Chinchansur had borrowed the money saying his factories were running under loss.

“The cheque he had given to me for the full amount dated April 30, 2015, bounced,” she complained.

Chinchansur had failed to appear in the court despite the summons. The court granting bail to former minister has given him relief at least till June 1, the next hearing date.

It may be recalled that in 2012, the court had issued notices to Chinchansur on illegal assets case but he had managed to obtain a stay from the state High Court.
